Its main operations include supermarkets (under the Woolworths brand in Australia and the Countdown brand in New Zealand), liquor retailing (as BWS and Dan Murphy’s in Australia), hotels and pubs under the Australian Leisure and Hospitality Group (ALH Group) umbrella, and discount department stores under the Big W name in Australia.

I prefer to shop at other Woolies Supermarkets surrounding the North Blackburn store as it is understaffed, leading to long queues at the checkout and not much service when information or direction is required. Store could do with a major makeover as it is looking past it’s best before date.

After shopping for the last 2 years at Woolworths Legana, I have found the quality of the Fresh Food section, is actually the opposite.
In the past 2 years I have noted not only mouldy strawberries, but a number of other reasons for making these comments.
Onions were soft and going rotten on the shelf!
Limp celery (even when it is in season here)!
    Bruised and scarred tomatoes!
Over ripe bananas at the full price!
Fresh herbs limp and grey looking, well past their use by dates!
Slimy lettuces, that were clearly ready for the bin.

All these products and more have made me realize that buying ‘Fresh Vegetables’ at this Woolworths store, is an absolute waste of my money.

The only reason we buy there is because all the other green grocers are closed after 6pm, when it is convenient to do our shopping.

We have also checked out online purchasing, but the prices are far to high, and I cannot see any advantage in using this system.

    • I agree. I bought a pack of steak at Woolworths Crows Nest yesterday. It looked okay from the outside, the pack was within sell by date etc.
I got it home and the slices of meat in the centre were green! I had to throw the lot out. If I lived close to Crows Nest I would’ve taken it back, but the petrol would have cost more than the meat, so not worth it. I just won’t deal with them again.
